This the main station of KhonKaen prefecture. The station building is elevated structure that support the railway line to pass the city. In 2023, The first floor still clears and no have any convenient store shop. This is the transformation step of Railway department of Thailand. The railway bogies support for double track that parallel line with the High speed rail in the construction plan.

If you’re looking to cross into Laos at the Friendship Bridge at Nong Kai, we found that the train from Khon Kaen is the easiest way to do it. Here are some details: There is a commuter train #415 that leaves the Khon Kaen station daily at 9:30. (It originates at Nakhon Ratchasima.)You can only buy tickets the day of departure and should give yourself 45 minutes or so to deal with the line. The ticket costs 35 bhat and has no assigned seating. (I’ve attached a timetable photo.) There are a handful of quick stops along the way and you’ll arrive in Nong Kai just after 12pm. A Tuk-tuk will take you to the bridge for about 40 baht per person. Exiting Thailand is quick. Then it’s 30 bhat for the bus ride across the bridge to the Laos side. We had an e-visa and could by-pass all the lines. A Visa on Arrival seems easy enough but I’m not sure how long you’ll have to wait. — As soon as you’re in you can catch the local bus to Vientiane every hour until late afternoon. It’s 18,000kip and takes an hour to get to the local bus station. From there it’s just a 20 minute walk to the city center, or a Tuk-tuk at whatever price you can negotiate. There isn’t a bus from Khon Kaen to Nong Kai, and no bus crossing the bridge from Thailand taking you all the way to Vientiane.

The station is large and has parking space. and motorbikes. The clean place will allow people to board the platform approximately 30 minutes before the train arrives. In the evening and evening, there will be food trucks. Come sell food in the car park.

Khon Kaen Railway Station is an elevated station. The Khon Kaen - Chira Road Junction section is a double track. The Khon Kaen - Nong Khai section is still a single track as of 2023. The station is large and spacious. The bathrooms are clean, but there is some bird droppings on the floor. Even though there is always cleaning. There are a lot of stairs going up, and there's also an elevator, but only 4 points are actually open for use (as far as I can see). There are many ticket booths, why is only one open? People are waiting in a long line now. The ticket salesman, the young man, spoke politely. But middle-aged men and women tend to be a bit tense, sometimes speaking less politely. Improve yourself immediately. There is a battery charger at the station as well, very convenient. Located in the city, near the central. The train I took today was train 432 Khon Kaen - Kaeng Khoi Junction. Even though the inside looks a bit rundown, the ticket inspectors of this train speak very politely.
